SUMMARY:App Making for Every Classroom - Non-Coders Welcome! (ES/MS/HS)
DESCRIPTION:Create a basic app using Code.org’s AppLab that showcases learning in an interactive and powerful medium. \n\n\n\nLeaders: Amanda Grutza \n\n\n\nPresent your Learners’ Work in a Multi-Modal Immersive Showcase! \n\n\n\nLearn to use a multi-modal platform that allows your learners to elevate their stories and their work\, and offers you a new way to elicit and visualize student thinking. In this workshop\, you will create a basic app using Code.org’s AppLab that showcases learning and creativity in an interactive and powerful medium. We will begin by focusing on how it was used in a Country of Origin unit\, and participants will build their own stories onto this framework. \n\n\n\nNo coding or STEM experience is needed! You will leave this workshop with a fully customized template and lesson plan curated especially for your classroom. \n\n\n\nAll of the software and tools used are free and open source\, and can be easily implemented in the classroom. \n\n\n\nThis content is relevant for educators from elementary through high school – all content areas welcome! Please note this class is not recommended for teachers of pre-readers.
