About Me

A native New Yorker born of immigrant parents, Allan Powe (he/him) teaches Biology at Regis High School in Manhattan, leveraging his thirty years of scientific research experience in academia and biotech and a passion for getting students excited about science. He’s also passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists from underrepresented communities. He previously taught Biology and Regents Chemistry for 3 years at Hyde Leadership Charter School in the Bronx and has worked with STEMteachersNYC over the past 6 years to organize workshops and working groups on everything from biotechnology to AI in education.
