The Elementary STEMLab + Initiative

The Elementary STEMLab is a professional development program designed to engage elementary teachers across the NYC area in the pursuit of excellent science teaching and learning.

The Elementary STEM Initiative brings together early childhood and elementary STEM teachers interested in sharing resources, networking, and advocating for teacher-led professional learning.

Computational Thinking & Coding

We’re integrating computational thinking into curricular materials for physics education, empowering teachers to use computer coding languages like Pyret to enhance their curriculum and student engagement.

Culturally Responsive STEM

In 2018, our teacher-members formed a Culturally Responsive STEM taskforce to identify strategies for supporting STEM educators and ensure our workshops address the principles of cultural responsiveness.
