The Elementary STEMLab is a professional development program designed to engage elementary teachers across the New York City area in the pursuit of excellent science teaching and learning. COMPUTATIONAL THINKING & CODING IN PHYSICS

Computational thinking is the use of computers to simulate and study complex systems. At STEMteachersNYC, we’re integrating this methodology into curricular materials for physics education, empowering teachers to use computer coding languages like Pyret to enhance their curriculum and student engagement. CULTURALLY RESPONSIVE STEM

In 2018, our teacher-members came together and formed a Culturally Responsive STEM taskforce to identify strategies for supporting STEM educators around the region, and to ensure our workshops address the principles of cultural responsiveness.
