During the workshop we will share our recent experience working with elementary school teachers on how to successfully apply the principles of responsive teaching in science instruction.  This workshop is aimed to provide you with some new questioning strategies, tips for how to raise the level of student-to-student discourse, and methods for implementing engaging opportunities for special education students and English language learners in science lessons.  We will also share some specific lessons that illustrate best practices in science education, and how these best practices connect and support the Next Generation Science Standards.
