Since 2011, STEMteachersNYC has organized over 175 workshops for 4000+ teachers. This year we need your help to kickstart the STEM Leadership Fund. The Fund will allow us to reach educators in under resourced schools and offset travel, housing and materials costs for our summer workshops! Your tax deductible donation helps keep these teacher-led programs affordable and accessible to educators across the region.

From widening gender gaps to limited access to STEM resources and education, STEMteachersNYC is committed to supporting all teachers and students.  In NYC, only 20% of high school graduates have taken a course in physics, and just over a half have taken chemistry. In districts where resources are limited, the story is often worse and the stakes much higher. At STEMteachersNYC we believe all students should have access to STEM courses that are relevant and responsive to their needs. And this requires ongoing teacher-led professional development. Our Culturally Responsive STEM Initiative was formed to begin addressing these needs, and we need your help to continue these efforts.

And that teachers working with other teachers is the best strategy to accomplish this. For nearly 10 years they’ve provided classroom-ready resources and support to teachers who need it most.
