Please Note: This workshops will be meeting virtually

This workshop is part of the CRT series. In this session, we’ll explore how to teach the mainstream Regents science curriculum with thoughtfulness, while opening our and our students’ eyes to the history of racism and Eurocentrism that led to our contemporary science curricula. We teachers have learned (and are required) to teach mainstream content. So how can we hold students accountable to learning this content, while also empowering them to critically challenge what it means to “do science,” and who gets to be a scientist? Facilitators will share research as well as actual lessons and protocols they’ve led in the high school science classroom.
