Rotational Motion is a notoriously difficult topic for students to comprehend and for teachers to teach. Since it encapsulates all the main topics in mechanics (kinematics, forces, energy, momentum), Rotational Motion is a favorite source for formulating questions for the AP Physics 1 and AP Physics C exams. Therefore, teaching it well and in a manner that makes sense to students is key.
Come join us and experience some highly effective activities: a lab, a simulated activity, and a sense-making worksheet covering different aspects of Rotational Motion. Participants will engage in several activities and present their results, using whiteboards. Discussions will follow and will be conducted in both student and teacher mode. Participants will be able to take away a collection of effective, student-tested labs and activities that cover all the aspects of Rotational Motion.
