This spring STEMteachersNYC is launching a MakerSTEM working group and we are excited to be linking up with several incredible institutes and organizations across NYC! Each month the group will meet at a different Makerspace in NYC. Participating locations include Cooper Union’s Albert Nerken School of Engineering center for K-12 STEM Outreach, Pixel Academy, Skill Mill NYC, and NY Historical Society’s Tech Commons. Educators should come prepared to work! We will be learning how each organization manages their space, programs, and projects, get our hands into some tinkering and assessment tools! We will all share as learning and engagement professionals to create a collaborative experience! Please note space is limited and group size varies by event.
February 22 1:30-3:30pm, join the educators from Cooper Union’s K-12 STEM Outreach team at the Albert Nerken School of Engineering Feb 22, 1:30-3:30pm. Participants will meet with and learn from the students enrolled in their STEM Saturdays Program for high school students, and use the PEAR Institute Engagement in STEM rubric to discuss their work and experiences. Please come prepared to tinker, to work and to discuss!
Space is extremely limited and seats are free!
