Climate Physics Modeling (HS)
November 12 @ 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Grade Level
High SchoolJoin us for a modeling-friendly workshop on a physics energy unit that is framed around climate change.
Leaders: Elissa Levy
Join us for a modeling-friendly physics energy unit that is framed around climate change. We’ll apply energy bar charts to climate-related energy transfer and will explore the relationship between colloquial energy resources and canonical energy forms. After modeling global warming, we’ll read and critique Eunice Foote’s original 1856 paper on carbon dioxide and heat. These activities have been done in 9th grade physics and can be adapted for any middle or high school classroom.
