Data, Big Data and AI in the Classroom (w/American Eel Project Kits!)

Led by Grace Sanvictores and Michelle Velho

First five to register (and attend) receive American Eel conservation kits!

Approximately 328.77 million terabytes of data are created each day. Teaching data literacy through storytelling can be a valuable tool in helping students interpret and communicate data effectively. This workshop blends and extends our Data literacy curriculum with our environmental units of the Hudson River and Eel and other projects, and focuses on storytelling with the data.

Our students use a variety of multimedia to share/report data including Scratch, movie presentations, MicroBits, to create game boards or upcycling materials. Our students use data to compose arguments, create infographics, and tell stories. In this session, we will also share ways young learners can creatively share data stories using multimedia.

Cost: FREE. Our ClimateSTEM Series is supported by ConEd.
