This fall, STEMteachersNYC is excited to launch several pedagogy-, grade-, and subject-specific working groups! We look forward to welcoming you in October to our Elementary STEM Working Group. Are you an elementary classroom teacher or science/STEM specialist looking to continue growing within a professional learning community? Attend a dynamic working group where we can share best practices and receive feedback in an open, collaborative environment. These sessions will be co-Facilitated by teacher leaders from our Elementary STEM Initiative, which aims to:
- Develop more relevant, interdisciplinary, student-driven early childhood and elementary level STEM curricula for public, independent, and charter school students in New York City.
- Build a network of colleagues to share ideas, resources, successes, and challenges of teaching early childhood and elementary STEM.
Suggested topics for our October session: Teaching with phenomena? Mastering the NGSS? Developing a successful launch? STEMteachersNYC working groups are spaces for sharing successes, addressing challenges, honing strategies, and being innovative. Topics will be chosen based on registrant suggestions. We hope that you will come ready to participate!
