Preparing teachers and students for STEM learning is all about building confidence. Join LEGO Education to explore active learning strategies that build confidence in STEM amongst teachers and students. Through a series of hands-on activities and research-based discussions educators will learn how to develop meaningful inquiry-based learning that allows students to solve real-world problems. Participants will have a chance to work with LEGO’s portfolio of teaching tools such as STEAM Park and WeDo 2, which explore design, engineering and robotics applications for grades K-5 and beyond.
By the end of the workshop, teachers will leave with ideas for STEM lessons that allow for collaboration, problem-solving, communication, confidence, computational/critical thinking, and creativity. Participants will experience the continuum from early childhood to primary showing how this will continue into middle and high school, helping students to gain confidence at each level. Our facilitated lessons will be aligned to standards and will also show how they integrate into the Amplify science curriculum. Communication, collaboration, and creativity will be encouraged!
