2:15 PM – 3:45 PM Breakout Sessions Choose from five focused tracks

1) Partnering to support Multilingual Learners & STEM
Join faculty from the Institute for Latin American Studies at Columbia University (ILAS), Teachers College, and CUNY Brooklyn College to learn about initiatives that connect and serve teachers and faculty through partnerships that support our NYC multilingual learners – and those who aspire to be!
2) CUNY Campus-to-school STEM partnerships
As CUNY campuses work diligently to integrate computational and digital literacies into their teacher preparation programs, we ask the question: How can the colleges and their K-12 partner schools work together to bring these tech literacies to students and educators city-wide? Join us for a conversation about activities that university faculty, teacher candidates, and P-12 teachers can do to build knowledge and collaborate to evolve STEM teaching practices together.
3) Connecting Community, STEM & Schools!
Join esteemed colleagues from well-loved Urban Advantage and NYSCI programs! For decades these two community and school-embedded institutions have evolved to understand and support learners through partnerships with teachers, schools, and families.
4) Next-Gen Teacher Collaboratives – Shaping the new PLC
Join STEMteachersNYC for a discussion about redefining the PLC. Hear stories of how STEMteachersNYC supports teachers in developing ‘leader moves’, and encourages peer-to-peer learning. How can we share what’s working in PLCs, and learn from each other to improve?
5) Teachers as Faculty!
Hear stories of classroom-degree bridge builders! With multiple years of teaching experience across grades, standards and department transitions, many teachers reach back into academia, bringing unique and relevant experiences with them. Hear stories of teachers who have taken this step, what they have taught, and what they have learned!

3:45 PM – 4:30 PM Awards & Closing

Join us as we honor innovation, dedication, and impact at the ultimate celebration of excellence in STEM education!
